NATA 2019 (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) is a gateway to B.Arch courses. Council of Architecture conducts this examination every year to provide admission to eligible applicants. NATA 2019 is one of the popular professional course examinations in India. Every year thousands of applicants desperately wait for this examination to apply for. Eligibility Criteria For NATA Exam 2019

The applicants should check the eligibility criteria before they start with application process. This will help you to ensure that whether you are eligible for the examination or not. The eligibilities for NATA 2019 have been listed below.

  • The applicants must have cleared Higher Secondary examination or equivalent or 10+2 Diploma (in any stream) or International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of schooling with mathematics as one subject scoring minimum 50% marks in the above mentioned qualifying examinations.
  • The applicants who are appearing can also apply for NATA 2019.
  • The applicant should have attained the age of 17 years as on 31st July 2019.
  • There is no procedure of lateral entry admission in B.Arch program.

NATA 2019 Application Form & Application Fee

The application process for NATA 2019 will start from 1st week of January 2019 till 1st week of February 2019. The applications can be submitted through online mode from the official website of NATA 2019. The applicants will have filled all the required details as personal details, academic details, uploading of scanned images etc. The application fee will also be paid in the application process stage. Once you pay the application fee, you will get confirmation page. After few days of successful completion of application process, the correction window for discrepancies will be opened.

The application fee can be paid either through offline (via challan) or online (via debit/credit card or net banking) mode. The application fee is Rs. 1250/- for all categories. The applicants who have chosen the examination city as Dubai, have to pay Rs. 7000/- as application fee.

Examination Pattern- NATA 2019

The examination pattern for NATA 2019 has been mentioned below. The applicants applying for the examination should go through the examination pattern at least once to plan their study accordingly.

  • The examination will be held through offline mode with duration of 3 hours.
  • There will be 3 sections in the examination- Mathematics, Drawing & General Aptitude.
  • There will be total 60 questions in the examination and total marks of the examination will be of 200. The questions of Mathematics & General Aptitude will be of MCQ type.
  • The applicants will get 2 marks for each correct answer in Mathematics & General Aptitude & there will be no penalty for incorrect answers.
  • The applicants have to score minimum 25% in MCQ type section (30 out of 120) & 25% in Drawing section (20 out of 80).

Examination Syllabus

The examination syllabus for NATA 2019 has been decided by the examination authority. You should prepare by following the syllabus to score good in the examination. The syllabus for all the 3 sections is as follows-

  • Mathematics

Probability, Trigonometry, Statistics, Coordinate Geometry, Theory of Calculus, Algebra, Permutation & Combination, Logarithms, Application of Calculus and Matrices.

  • General Aptitude

Visualizing different sides of 3D objects, Interpretation of Pictorial Composition, Visualizing 3 dimensional objects from 2 dimensional objects from 2 dimensional drawing, Analytical reasoning, Texture related to architecture, Mental ability, Mathematical reasoning & sets & relations objects, General awareness of National/International architects & famous architectural creations.

  • Drawing

Understanding scale and proportion of objects, aesthetics, colour texture, harmony and contrast, geometric composition, shape, sketching of urban scape and landscape, Form transformations in 2D and 3D like union, Perspective drawing, , Generating plan, elevation, subtraction, rotation, surfaces and volumes. Conceptualization and visualization through structuring objects in memory, Creating 2D and 3D compositions using given shape and forms, and 3D views of objects, Common day-to-day life objects like furniture, equipment etc., from memory.

Admit Card & Declaration of Result-

The admit cards for NATA 2019 will be released very soon after completion of the examination. The admit cards can be downloaded online from the 4th week of March 2019. The applicants need to carry their admit card along with photo ID proof.

The examination result will be declared in the 2nd week f June 2019. The result will be published in the official website and the applicants can check their results from the website of NATA itself. The applicants should take down a print out of their result for future reference.

Answer Key & Cut Offs

The answer key will be released at the official website of NATA after few weeks of completion of the examination. The applicants can download the answer key to compare their answers with the answer key.

The cut off marks are the minimum marks decided by the examination authority that applicants have to score to pass the examination. For NATA 2019 also the cut offs will be decided by the examination authority. The applicants who will score the minimum cut off marks will be declared as qualified in NATA 2019.

Counseling Process- NATA 2019

The counseling process will be held for the applicants who have score minimum cut off marks. On the basis of the cut off marks, the merit list will be prepared and applicants will get admission to the courses offered by the NATA 2019.
