JEE Main 2019: Joint Entrance Examination (Main) is one of the popular engineering entrance examinations in the country. Every year, the JEE Apex Board organizes this entrance examination for offering admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes like B.Tech/ B.E & B.Arch in IIITs, NITs, other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and Institutions funded by participating State Government etc. The JEE Main will also be an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the applicants have to appear if they are seeking for admission to the UG courses offered by the ISM/ IITs.

It is expected that the JEE Main 2019 will be conducted on April 2019 and the application process for the same will commence in December 2018. Eligibility criteria

Aspiring candidates willing to apply for JEE Main 2019 are requested to read the information booklet carefully and ensure their eligibility as per the prescribed criteria laid down for JEE (Main). The eligibility criteria for JEE Main 2019 are as follows:

Educational criteria

  • Qualifying examination: Candidates should have passed the 12th examination/qualifying examination with at least five subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects and two other elective subjects in order to be eligible for JEE Main 2019.
  • Year of passing qualifying examination: Candidates who have passed qualifying examination i.e. 12th in 2017 and 2018; or candidates who are appearing the qualifying examination in 2019 are eligible to apply for JEE Main 2019.

Age Criteria

Candidates, who are born on or after 1st October 1994, will be eligible to appear in JEE Main 2019. However, 5 years upper age relaxation will be provided to candidates belonging to SC/ST & PWD category.

Note: Date of Birth as recorded in 10th or secondary education board certificate will only be considered.

Number of Attempts:

Only 3 attempts will be given for qualifying the JEE Main. The number of attempts will be counted from the year 2018 onwards.

Eligibility for Admission in NITs, IITs, CFTIs:

Admission to IITs, NITs, CFTIs will be strictly based on All India Rank subject to the condition that applicant must have obtained at least 75% (65% in case of SC/ST) marks in 12th examination or be in top twenty percentile in the 12th examination organized by the respective boards.

JEE Main 2019 Application forms: How to apply?

Interested and eligible candidates have to apply online only through official website of JEE (Main) i.e. Candidates are advised to read the information booklet carefully before starting the online application process. It is expected that the online application procedure of will be commenced in the month of December, 2018 onwards. The important information related to JEE Main application form 2019 are given below:

  • Aspirants have to visit the official website to fill JEE Main application form.
  • It should be noted that no other printed or offline mode will be entertained to apply for JEE Main.
  • Applicants should possess Aadhaar Enrollment Number/ Aadhaar Number/Registration Number provided by facilitation center to apply for JEE main 2019.
  • Candidates have to provide all the required details while filling up the online application form.
  • Upload the scanned images of photograph and signature in prescribed manner.
  • On the successful submission of details, an Acknowledgement Page with Application Number will be generated. Take the print of the same and keep it safe for future reference.

Application Fee:

For the successful submission of JEE Main 2019 application form, candidates have to pay certain amount as necessary application fee. Fee can be paid either through credit card/debit card or e-challan. The JEE Main 2019 Application fee may differ from category to category. Exam pattern

Having good knowledge on examination pattern such as number of questions, marking scheme, subjects covered, will help you in the better preparation of the JEE Main exam. There will be two different papers organized for JEE Main 2019 i.e. paper 1 & paper 2. In which paper 1 will be organized for B.Tech/B.E admission and paper -2 will conduct for B.Arch / B.Planning courses.
