ISI (Indian Statistical Institute) is going to invite applications from eligible applicants for ISI entrance examination. The application process will start most probably in the month of May 2019. ISI 2019 is a national level examination. The successful applicants will get admission to various UG, PG & JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) programs offered by Indian Statistical Institute in its campuses situated in Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai & Tezpur. The interested applicants are advised to submit their applications on or before the last of application process.
ISI 2019- Application Form & Application Fee
The application process will start in the month of February 2019. The applicants need to fill the application forms completely and submit it on or before the last date of application submission. The application forms can be obtained from the official website of ISI. The applicants have to upload the scanned images of their photographs & signatures in prescribed format.
The applicants have to pay Rs. 700/- (In case of reserved categories Rs. 350/-) as application fee. The application fee can be paid either through online or offline mode. To complete the application process, the application fee has to be paid before last date of application submission.
ISI 2019- Important Dates
The tentative schedule of ISI 2019 has been given below to help the applicants. The important events & the dates mentioned below are tentative which might get changed by the examination authority. The schedule for ISI 2019 is as follows-

The ISI 2019 is conducted to offer admissions in different courses. The eligibility criteria for different courses are different. The applicants should check the eligibility criteria of the particular course for which they are going to apply. The eligibility criteria for different courses are as follows-
- For B.Stat (Hons)/ B.Math (Hons) course, the applicants must have passed higher secondary or equivalent examination.
- For M.Tech (CS) course, the applicants must have Master’s degree or B.Tech/B.E in relevant subjects.
- For M.Math course, the applicants must have completed 3 years Bachelor degree/ B.E or B.Tech in relevant subjects.
- For MS (QE) course, the applicants must have completed 3 years Bachelor degree/ B.E or B.Tech in relevant subjects.
- For M.Tech (QRQO) course, the applicants must have completed Master’s degree or B.Teech/B.E in relevant field.
- For MS (QMS) course, the applicants must have 3 years Bachelor degree/ B.E or B.Tech in relevant fields.
It is quite important to get familiar with the examination pattern to do well in the examination. If you are through with the examination pattern then you can make better study plans to score good in the examination.
- The duration of the examination will be 2 hours.
- The examination will be held in 2 sessions, 1st session from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm and 2nd session from 2 pm to 4 pm.
- There will be 2 sections in the questions paper, Section I & Section II.
- The question paper will have both MCQ type & Descriptive type questions.
The examination syllabus for different courses will be different. The questions will be based on 12th and UG standards. For B.Stat & B.Math, the syllabus will cover the topics from Algebra, Trigonometry, calculus & Geometry. On the other hand, for M.Stats the syllabus will cover the topics from Mathematics, Statistics & Probability Subjects. The applicants are advised to prepare for ISI 2019 as per the syllabus to score good in the examination.
The admit cards will be available 1-2 weeks prior examination most probably in the month of April 2019. The admit card will have the important details about the examination such as Applicant’s name, Examination date, time & venue etc.
The admit cards can be obtained from the official website of ISI. The applicants should check their admit cards carefully for any kind of discrepancy (if any). If there is any discrepancy, you should report to the authority immediately to get it corrected.
The answer key for ISI 2019 will be released few days after the examination being held. You can download the answer key for ISI 2019 from the official website of the institute as well. You will be able to compare your answer sheet with the answer key provided by the examination authority.
ISI 2019- Cut Offs
The cut off marks are the minimum qualifying marks required to pass the examination. The examination authority will decide the cut off marks for ISI 2019. You have to score the cut off marks to get shortlisted for counseling process.
Declaration of Result
The examination result of ISI 2019 will be declared in the month of June 2019. The applicants will be able to check their result from the official website. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of applicants’ performance in the entrance examination
The applicants can check their name & registration number from the list to see their result. The applicants who have passed GATE may get direct admission, provided they have valid score card of GATE.
The successful applicants in the ISI 2019 will be shortlisted and called for personal interview round. The applicants who are selected should download their call letters to take part in counseling process. The applicants have to bring their documents during counseling for verification.
The final selection will be done if you are selected in counseling. You need to confirm your admission by performing all the admission formalities.
