Three objectives of Adventure sports:
(i) Overcoming the fear: We know that adventure activities are thrilling and exciting and involves high degree of danger. It requires lot of courage to perform. People use these adventure sports as a means of overcoming fear.
(ii) To develop mental and physical strength: Adventure sports are categorised as dangerous activities which should be performed under right guidance. Only confidence is not enough to take part in extreme sports but participants develop physically strength of the body.
(iii) Building high concentration: It takes a great level of concentration to perform adventure sports tasks successfully. The participants are required to be attentive and responsive towards the happening around them.

Leadership qualities one inculcates by participating in adventure sports:
By facing life challenging experience we develop following leadership qualities:
Social adjustment: It extends the recreational and educational benefit of outdoor living, which develops a social adjustment quality which is required by a leader.
Concentration: Adventure sports give opportunities for spiritual development through camping, trekking, hiking etc. Through this one becomes fully concentrated towards ones task. Firm determination is the quality which one learns through adventure.
Cooperative attitude: it also develops better understanding among themselves which enhances socialization. Group adventure activities unites us, there is good coordination, helpfulness. So we learn various social ethics required by a leader.
Confidence and courage: The other qualities of a leader which one learns through adventure sports are confidence, good planning, broad mindedness, good fellowship, hard-working, honest, good physique and emotionally balanced personality.
Conclusion: The basic function of a leader is to motivate and inspire his/her followers to guide others and to hold command. All these are fulfilled with the help of adventure activities.

What safety measure children should be taught while participating in Trekking? [Delhi 2015]
Trekking comes with great physical demand like walking for hours with bag packs of heavy supplies. While carrying heavy loads and walking for miles we must learn how to stay safe during treks. Some of the hazards and safety tips involved are:
(i) Choosing the wrong path or not bringing a map. With this mistake one may lose many hours stay on the route trail.
(ii) Do right planning and preparation. So that one can hike successfully.
(iii) Wear right clothing and hiking shoes.
(iv) Do not overestimate your physical abilities.
(v) The basic outdoor survival items include a compass, map, lighter, water, food, weather gear, torch or flashlight.
(vi) Take a cell phone to know about possible natural dangers.
(vii) Long distance hiking will increase the risk of dehydration, fatigue, hazardous water crossing, insect-borne diseases and animal attack. Remaining aware and preparedness prevent disasters from happening. Use your common sense also.
(viii) Always check weather, health and trail conditions before going on the hike.
(ix) Carry a first aid kit.
(x) Have a companion or a group since one has to travel a long distance on foot.
(xi) Before going for a hike, one must know hiker’s responsibility code on routine basis. Also review important hiking tips.

(xiii) Watch your step to avoid injury. Falls and slips are common on the trail.
State the qualities of leadership in the field of physical education.
There are some personal as well as professional qualities which are necessary for the leadership in the field of physical education. These qualities are mentioned below:
Energetic: To be energetic is necessary for a leader in the field of physical education. In fact, it is the basic requirement of this profession.
Friendliness and Affection: Friendliness and affection are also the necessary qualities for a leader in this profession. These qualities are developed through physical education programmes and Olympic Games especially during training as well as competitions,
Decisiveness: A leader in the field of physical education should be decisive. It means he should have the ability to decide or to take decision spontaneously.
Intelligent: A leader of physical education should have intelligence. In fact, intelligence is the ability of an individual to find out the possible solution of various complex problems. He should be able to find the simple solution to complex problems. An intelligent leader of physical education can be a boon to this profession.
Creative: A leader in the field of physical education should be creative. Such leader can produce new techniques or ideas, which are needed in the field of physical education.
Good Health: A leader in the field of physical education should have good health. Such a leader can work for longer duration without any feeling of fatigue.
